Point cloud

The point cloud is the basic product representing the geometry of the scanned objects. Thanks to the sensors and GPS sensors used in the 3D laser scanner, we deliver the product in a global coordinate system, or, at the customer’s request, we can transform it into any local frame of reference.

The point cloud as an end product is essential for deeper design analysis processes. It can be used, among others:

  • to monitor and document the progress of construction works
  • for checking the accuracy and timing of the work of subcontractors conducting construction works
  • for collision detection
  • for creating 2D documentation (technical drawings)
  • for creating 3D models
  • to the so-called reverse engineering processes

The quality of the point cloud and the number of individual scans is a derivative of the subsequent activities and purposes of processing it will be subjected to. As a final product, we deliver the point cloud in formats convenient for you, depending on the specialized software you work with.
